ברצוננו להביע את תנחומינו הכנים, על מותו של ווגאר גשימוב, להורים, לאח סרחאן  ולכל בני משפחתו וחבריו.

ענף השחמט של אזרבייג'ן איבד את אחד הנציגים המבריקים שלו. ווגאר היה שחקן קבוצתי מבריק שהוביל את נבחרת אזרבייג'ן למדליית זהב באליפות אירופה בשנת 2009 בנובי סאד.  ווגאר שיחק שתי עונות מבריקות במועדון שחמט אשדוד ב- 2008-2009. בנוסף לניצחונותיו האישיים, ייזכר ווגאר כשחקן קבוצתי מבריק שהתאים לקבוצה שלנו כאילו שיחק במועדון במשך 10 שנים. תמיד היה פתוח ומוכן לעזור לכל חברי הקבוצה בעצה או בידע ספציפי. תמיד היה ידידותי, תקשורתי, ובה בעת המנהיג הבלתי מעורער של הקבוצה.

ווגאר היה בן אדם במלוא מובן המילה, וככזה יישאר לנצח בלבנו!

On behalf of the Israel Chess Federation and the Ashdod Chess Club, for which Vugar played, we wish to express our deepest condolences to Vugar's parents, his brother Sarhan and all his family and friends.

Azerbaijani chess lost one of its brightest representatives, a brilliant team player who led the Azerbaijani national team to a gold medal at the European Team Championship 2009 in Novi Sad. Vugar spent two brilliant seasons in Ashdod Chess Club (2008-2009). In addition to his personal victories, Vugar will be remembered as a brilliant team player who fit into our team, as if he played for the club for 10 years. He was always open and ready to help all his teammates with advice or specific knowledge. Vugar was always friendly, communicative, and at the same time he was the undisputed leader of the team.

He was a human being in the best sense of the word, and this is how Vugar will remain forever in our hearts!
